Leon Reed worked for over 20 years at Lone Star Steel. During this time he worked a day shift for 2 weeks, a late-afternoon shift for 2 weeks and then the graveyard shift for 2 weeks. He rotated through these shifts for his entire tenure at the plant.
He was also a pillar of Bethel Baptist Church in Pittsburg Texas for decades.
